Sam Cece
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Sam Cece's executive management expertise is the result of over 25 years in enterprise software and systems sales, marketing and operations. As CEO of StrongMail, he has played a pivotal role in guiding the company's transformation from its genesis as an innovative email infrastructure company to a full-service, top-tier provider of email marketing and social media solutions for Fortune 2000 companies. Before StrongMail, Cece joined BEA Systems pre-IPO and held a number of key, world-wide, senior management positions during his tenure, including President of the Global Services Division; Vice President and General Manager of BEA's WebXpress Division; and Vice President of Worldwide Marketing. Prior to joining BEA, Cece held a number of marketing management positions in Silicon Valley. Cece holds a B.S. degree from Woodbury University.
Mark Kvamme, Sequoia Capital
Director
Mark Kvamme focuses on software and services investments. Prior to joining Sequoia Capital in 1999, Mark was Chairman of USWeb/CKS and Chairman and CEO of CKS Group prior to the merger with USWeb. Earlier in his career Mark was a Director of International Marketing for Wyse Technology, the President and CEO of International Solutions, and was a founding member of Apple France. Mark has a BA in French Economics and Literature from the University of California at Berkeley.
Venky Ganesan, Globespan Capital Partners
Director
Venky is a Managing Director based in Globespan's Palo Alto office where he focuses on enterprise software and infrastructure investments. His active portfolio consists of investments in Exeros, Fogbreak, Nominum, Plaxo, Sendia, Steelwedge, and StrongMail Systems. Prior to Globespan, Venky was a Vice President of JAFCO Ventures where he focused on enterprise software investments. Prior to founding Trigo Technologies, Venky was an Associate in JAFCO's Boston office where he envisioned the idea behind Trigo and where the company was incubated at the time of inception. As co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Trigo Technologies, Inc. Venky played an integral role in helping the company take the leadership position in the product information management space. Trigo was acquired by IBM resulting in a substantial investment return for all investors. Previously, Venky worked with McKinsey & Co. in their Los Angeles and Johannesberg offices. He also was a program manager at Microsoft's Encarta group. Venky received degrees in Computer Science, Math, and Economics from both the California Institute of Technology and Reed College.
Sangam Pant, Evercore Ventures

Prior to joining Evercore Ventures, Sangam Pant was the General Manager and Executive Vice President of eCompanies Incubator where he was responsible for product, technology and business development functions. Prior to joining eCompanies, Mr. Pant was Vice President of Integration and Operations for Lycos. During his tenure at Lycos, as Vice President of Engineering, Mr. Pant led the research, product development, quality assurance and operations groups for Lycos.com. Before joining Lycos, Mr. Pant was director of software development with AT&T's New Media Services and prior to that he directed software development efforts for Ziff-Davis and Digital Equipment Corporation. Mr. Pant holds four patents and has authored numerous publications. Mr. Pant received his B.S. in Electronic Engineering from Maharaja Sayajirao University in Baroda , India , his Master of Science degree from the University of Florida and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Tim McQuillen
Founder and Chief Information Officer
A technology industry veteran, Tim McQuillen has been driving innovations in email for more than 15 years. From rebuilding a SaaS application from the ground up to helping reinvent the science of email delivery, McQuillen has a diverse background that has earned him a reputation for helping companies overcome technical challenges and simplify processes with cutting-edge solutions. McQuillen is currently applying his expertise as founder and Chief Information Officer at StrongMail, where he helped build the business into a market leader that powers email marketing campaigns for such global brands as Fox Sports, Macys and Travelocity.
In founding StrongMail in 2002 and building its technical operations, McQuillen helped solve an unmet need for an in-house, high-performance email marketing solution, which led to financial backing from Sequoia Capital and other top-tier venture capital firms. As the head of StrongMail's on-demand solutions, security, operations, IP, QA and technical services, McQuillen has played a key role in transforming the company from an email infrastructure company to a full-service provider of on-demand and on-premise solutions.
Previously, McQuillen managed all technical operations for L90, Inc., a publicly held Internet advertising company that was acquired by DoubleClick after a $112 million IPO. In that role, McQuillen successfully directed L90's technical operations and engineering teams for this top-tier advertising network with over $40 million in annual revenue. McQuillen lead the key design, architecture, implementation and maintenance for adMonitor, L90's high-scale, multi-tier SaaS advertising and email delivery platform. adMonitor grew to be one of the Internet's most successful online marketing applications, reaching reached over 65% of the worldwide Internet population and delivering over 8 billion ads per month for over 3,000 companies. In addition to all data center infrastructure operations, McQuillen built and maintained a 24x7 network operations center with .99999% availability.
Prior to L90, McQuillen was director of business development and marketing for TigerEye Consulting, LLC, an online-based executive technical recruiting firm, and associate partner of Quest Worldwide, an executive technology staffing company. McQuillen holds a B.A. in psychology from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
