Product Manager - Platform
StrongMail Systems is looking for a highly driven, experienced Product Manager with a proven track record of managing the life cycle of enterprise platform products, from release requirements planning, to NPI (new product introductions), to product retirement. To perform this role successfully, the Product Manager must aggregate and synthesize product requirements from Marketing, Sales, Customers, Services, Partners and other key stakeholders into an effective release plan and roadmap. To ensure that the products evolve in a manner that balances innovation with tactical objectives, the Product Manager must continuously weigh competing demands and make decisions and recommendations that align with product strategy and company objectives.
Responsibilities
- Aggregate and synthesize competing product requirements from Marketing, Sales, Customers, Services, Partners and other Key stakeholders into an effective release plan and platform roadmap.
- Balance innovation with tactical objectives by continuously weighing competing demands and make decisions and recommendation that align with product strategy and company objectives.
- Develop market requirement documents (MRDs) that communicate the release requirements to engineering.
- Manage the complete product life cycle from conception, to launch, to retirement and ensure that the product fully and profitably satisfies the needs of the marketplace.
- Liaison with engineering and sales teams.
- Frequently interact with customers to understand product strengths and weaknesses in production environments.
- Influence product strategy as defined by the CTO to ensure StrongMail’s position as a market leader.
- Reports to the Director of Product Marketing.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated track record as a Product Manager for a high-tech company.
- Experience with enterprise-level software applications.
- Must be extremely process oriented, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly build rapport.
- A deep understanding of the requirements associated with building highly available and scaleable enterprise software solutions.
- Strong technical background, including:
- experience with API/Web Services
- knowledge of enterprise-level software/hardware configurations and trade-offs
- knowledge of experience developing products use in high-availability environments
- Experience with software integration techniques
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelors/Masters in computer science or equivalent.
- 3+ years of Product Management experience.
