These positions are available in Redwood Shores, CA, Chicago, IL, and Boston, MA. (The Chicago and Boston positions are home-based.)
The area: Small to Medium Sized Businesses
The Account Executive team focuses on integrating StrongMail’s products and services into small and medium businesses, educational institutions and government agencies. Consisting of high-achieving engineering, sales and marketing professionals, we work with a vast array of partners and customers to advance the company's mission of dominating the on-premise/near-premise email infrastructure and marketing space.
The role: Account Executive
StrongMail is looking for upbeat, focused and well-organized individuals to join the EnterpriseSales team selling StrongMail Systems Solutions including the email delivery, email integration and email marketing appliances along with those services associated with the various offerings.
You must be comfortable making dozens of cold calls a day, generating interest, qualifying prospects, building solutions and closing sales of $30 to $100K. You must also have demonstrated experience prospecting and growing an account list, as well as closing sales.
Responsibilities
- Be responsible for the entire sales process from prospecting to close.
- Lead Generation/outbound calling and warm lead follow up.
- Understand customer needs and requirements.
- Present and articulate advanced product features.
- Close sales and achieve quarterly sales quotas.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years selling experience in hardware/software sales.
- Proven track record in inside sales.
- Experience in closing deals in the $30-$90K range.
- Ability to mange entire sales process from prospecting through close.
- Ability to manage in high activity and high transaction environment.
- Excellent communications capabilities.
- Experience selling software and or email services a plus.
Lead Development Representative
Responsibilities
- Play a vital role in pipeline growth through processing of inbound leads for Inside and Outside Sales
- Initiate contact with suspects and prospects, create initial interest and qualifying
- Execute various calling campaigns for sales, marketing programs, trade shows
- Meticulously record activities with suspects and prospects
- Build credibility and strong working relationships with decision makers who do not show initial interest in our software offerings, but may need our solutions in the future
Sales Skills:
- Skilled and tenacious at calling and reaching elusive IT and Business executives
- Ability to effectively overcome business objections of prospective customers
- Demonstrate persistence, ability to overcome obstacles, and desire to improve skills and achieve assigned goals
Interpersonal Skills:
- Articulate, friendly, optimistic, and success-driven
- Expert communication skills; including listening, verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills

Qualifications
- 1-2 years of cold calling experience in a lead generation environment
- Internet savvy and experience with Word and Excel a must
- Computer and typing skills essential, familiarity with a CRM system, preferably Salesforce.com, highly desirable
- Experience working within an enterprise software sales organization highly desirable
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Enterprise Account Executives
StrongMail Systems is looking for articulate and driven sales superstars with high-energy, in-born sales instinct, drive and motivation. Candidate MUST have enterprise software sales experience and a proven track record of significant sales achievement in solutions selling.
Qualifications
- 6-8 year track record of over quota performance in enterprise software products, services and solutions
- 3-5 years experience selling any of at least one of the following is a must: infrastructure, content management systems, email delivery systems, CRM or ERP
- Possess large rolodex of c-level contacts
- In addition to the leads created by the company, the individual must be strong at prospecting and lead creation
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including strong demonstration and presentation both in person and via the phone
- Understand multi-level, enterprise selling process...must be comfortable in selling to both IT and Marketing
- Strong ability to close sales and the passion and desire to see customers through production
- Entrepreneurial spirit with ability to work in a fast paced and rapidly expanding company

Enterprise Sales Engineer
StrongMail Systems is seeking a Sales Engineer to provide technical, product and functional support to help close sales opportunities. You will work with the sales team throughout the pre-sales process, including participating in sales meetings and technical discussions with prospective customers. The Sales Engineer plays a critical role in closing business and must possess a strong balance of consultative sales skills and broad technical knowledge.
This position will be responsibile for the successful implementation of our products at a customer site from initial pilot to full customer production rollout. In this capacity you will be an expert in our application functionality, technology and implementationto ensure 100% customer satisfaction and success with our software.
Responsibilities
- Ensure overall project success and customer satisfaction
- Act as liaison between integration partners, StrongMail Systems and customers
- Conduct monthly assessments that assess the implementation against StrongMail Systems leading practices
- Executing streamlined, error-free demonstrations for prospective customers
- Give technical architecture presentations
- Preparing and maintaining sales tools such as demonstration and presentation software, materials and equipment
- Assessing current needs of prospective customers prior to on-site demonstrations
- Answering technical questions regarding software capability, installation and system requirements
- Advise project team on optimal design and use of StrongMail Systems products
- Lead resolution of critical account issues
- Responsible for account status reporting both to customer and StrongMail Systems Management
- Create account review presentations
- Escalation point of contact for product or service issues
- Provide assistance to other Sales Engineers on complex technical and business issues
- Must live in either Atlanta, San Francisco, Dallas, New York or Chicago
Qualifications
- 5+ years in the information systems or consulting field required
- Experience with full life cycle Enterprise Software product implementations highly preferred, implementation of other Application Server enterprise applications a plus
- BS in Computer Science or Mathematics
- Understanding of technical architectures, including RDBMS, client-server, package systems implementation, and internet technologies
- Ability to communicate complex technical analysis to technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to analyze complex business and data initiatives
- Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate, manage, and ensure the success of StrongMail Systems deployments
- Ability to manage difficult project planning & implementation issues
- Ability to manage difficult customer situations
- Programming experience is a must (Perl, Java, Shell Scripting, or C++)
- Full understanding of Linux
- Experience with Web Services (SOAP/XML)
- Database/SQL Programming Experience
- Experience with reporting systems/solutions

Services Sales/Account Manager
StrongMail Systems is searching for dynamic professionals to work closely with customers as revenue generating services account manager with upsell/cross sell and renewal closing responsibilities.
The responsibilities include:
- Work with sales and services teams to manage existing accounts, increase client satisfaction, generate and close additional upsell opportunities for service and license sales, and collect services renewals
- Understand customer’s business and help them grow their business using StrongMail products
- Be the point of contact for the assigned account and work with cross functional teams (services, finance, sales, and marketing) to resolve customer’s account related inquiries
