StrongMail Systems' Dave Lewis to Present at FTC Spam Summit

Lewis to advocate collaborative action for striking the right balance between email security and legitimate communication

Redwood City, Calif., July 9, 2007 – StrongMail Systems, Inc., the innovation leader in email infrastructure software, today announced that Dave Lewis, vice president of market and product strategy, will be presenting at the upcoming FTC Spam Summit, "The Next Generation of Threats and Solutions," held in Washington D.C. from July 11-12, 2007.

Representing StrongMail and the Email Sender & Provider Coalition (ESPC), Dave Lewis will be joining representatives from the FTC, Yahoo!, Consumer Reports, and Consumer Action in a panel discussion entitled "Putting Consumers Back in Control." Moderated by the FTC, the panel will discuss solutions for overcoming the challenges posed by spam and malware.

An email industry thought-leader and popular speaker at industry events, Lewis will be advocating a collaborative approach between senders, receivers/ISPs and consumers that promotes email security while safeguarding the effectiveness of the medium for legitimate communication and commerce. Lewis will argue that the right balance can be achieved by empowering consumers with the tools to exercise more control over their inboxes, arming the ISPs with authentication mandates and incentivizing senders to follow best practices.
