With decades of experience, the individuals profiled below are providing StrongMail’s clients with all the capabilities of a full-service agency, from program set-up and design to testing, optimization and execution.
Kara Trivunovic
Vice President of Agency Services
As StrongMail's Vice President of Agency Services, Kara Trivunovic is responsible for managing StrongMail's New York-based agency services and its full suite of multi-channel strategic, creative and implementation services. Prior to joining StrongMail, Kara was founder and principal of The Email Advisor, a respected email marketing consultancy focusing on email strategy and channel optimization acquired by StrongMail in May 2009.
Over the course of her 12-year tenure as a marketing professional, Kara has become a fixture at email marketing events and in industry publications. Working with a number of Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 organizations, Kara has had the opportunity to conceptualize and implement new and innovative email programs, optimize contact strategies and develop staffing and budget plans. Kara is actively involved in programmatic email development, execution and strategy, where she brings a unique industry perspective having worked on the client, agency and provider side. Kara holds a BS in Marketing from Purdue University.
Doug Steinberg
Creative Director
Doug has played many roles in his career, including music producer, production manager, art director, graphic designer, copywriter and creative director. After being appointed Group Creative Director at Grey Direct, where he managed creative duties for accounts like Chase, Adobe Systems Inc., Xerox and CheapTickets.com, Doug decided it was time to build a better business, and formed Magnetik with Will Kunkel. Magnetik was acquired by StrongMail in July 2010, where Doug now serves as creative director of StrongMail's agency services division in New York. Doug holds a BS in Magazine Journalism from Syracuse University.
Will Kunkel
Creative Director
For more than 12 years, Will Kunkel has been helping brands improve their brand presence and voice through innovative integrated marketing campaigns. After stints at Direct Partners (now Tequila) and Viacom, Will joined McCann Relationship Marketing where he created integrated campaigns for Sprint B-2-B and helped lead the agency to winning the Xbox Live account. He then served as a Creative Director at Grey eMarketing and Grey Direct, managing the Adobe Systems Inc. and CheapTickets.com accounts. He formed Magnetik with Doug Steinberg as a New Year’s resolution to have more control over creative work. Since the Magnetik's acquisition by StrongMail in July 2010, Will has continued to serve as creative director. Will holds a BFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York.
Ben Rothfeld
Director of Marketing Strategy
As Director of Marketing Strategy at StrongMail, Ben Rothfeld helps leading companies transform their marketing communications into better selling tools. An 18-year marketing veteran, Ben Rothfeld began his career helping companies like Citigroup and Bertlesmann with traditional mass-market brand advertising and direct mail campaigns before focusing on the Internet and online channels in 1998. He has since helped develop multi-channel campaigns for IBM, Siemens, Procter & Gamble and other global brands. Ben fine-tuned his data-driven marketing expertise during a six-year tenure at Acxiom, where he developed integrated communications streams in the travel, retail, technology, financial services, entertainment and telecommunications industries.
A recognized expert in testing and marketing as a research tool, Ben contributed a chapter to the popular industry handbook, “Reinventing Interactive and Direct Marketing." Ben holds a MA in advertising from the Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University and a BA in ancient history from Swarthmore College.
Alex Heller
Director of Agency Technical Services
Alex has over 15 years of application development, design and UI experience. In 2003, he founded tech consulting firm Web Applications, Inc., offering a broad array of tech services to clients such as Cold Spring Harbor Labs, Epsilon, Grey, Launchpad, Mercer, MIVA, Responsys, Simon & Schuster and W.P. Carey. In 2009, he launched Edible Buzz, a service providing social media monitoring and online reputation management to small businesses. He is also the founder of the restaurant website, FoodistColony, deemed "iTunes" for Foodies, as well as Soundload, a web-based digital music service that pre-dated iTunes. In July 2010, Web Applications and Edible Buzz were acquired by StrongMail, where Alex now serves as director of technology for the company's agency services division. Alex holds a BS in Mathematics from Virginia Tech.
